Firewall iP giveaway II

I’m giving away 5 copies of Firewall iP via RockYourPhone.

To enter you’ll have to do a bit more than last giveway ;) . Make a post/thread about Firewall iP in one of your favorite forums (no forums which support piracy please). Then post a comment here with a link to it. Make sure you comment with a real email address so I can contact you when it’s over.

The giveaway ends on the 28th February 2010 at 12 pm GMT. Winners will be announced here and contacted via email.

    I just payed ScreenDimmer 1.0.1-1, I don’t care thru Cydia, but I know what was really bugging with their accounts. hehe…

    Suggestions:
    - Enable Firewall for deamons. Currently it doesn’t help against Viruses.
    - Enable checking for Rock, Cydia. It should be my choice what to enable.
    - Disable phone home of application (opening GET /hello.php?string=[deviceid] of http://www.r-rill.net at startup of iphone)

      Hi! This is no phoning home. it’s the protection of the app. there were so many pirated versions out there that I had to do something. either increase the price (bad for the customers) or protection. It check’s with the cydiaapi (which has to be done via my server) if the device is leagal. You might not know that, but as soon as you buy the device I have your email, the country you live in, how you did pay (amazon or paypal) and your udid.

      there aren’t any viruses, and because of the limitations of MobileSubstrate you can’t hook background processes. That’s why it’s clearly stated in the description that it’s for apps.

      about Rock & Cydia: that was the deal I had to make: if firewall iP would have been able to block ads in cydia&rock it would have never made it to the cydiastore (community repo) or rock :( .
