Firewall 1.39 is available
The newest version of Firewall iP has been submitted and should be available soon is available.
The changes are all in the background, but massive. It improves stability, memory usage and speed. The beta testers are all impressed how quick it is now, and you will be too.
Changelog 1.39:
- significantly improved speed
- reduced memory ussage
- improved stability (fixes for example an issue with Sonic Winter Games)
- new icon
This will be the last update for a few weeks (unless hot-fixes are needed). I’ve to prepare for exams. After that I’ll go back adding a few ideas to FiP.
one word about disabling Firewall for specific apps:
if you find an app which is causing problems (there are too many apps in the AppStore to test them all) you can use the switch in the top bar (navigation bar; right where the app name is) to disable FiP only for this app.

FiP is not yet ready for translation. I’m planning to add that after my exams. Then I will ask via twitter for translations.

Can´t get firewall ip 1.39 to work. The thing that happens is that it blocks, ask me if i won´t to block och allow but when I try to open the firewall app (icon) it starts is up for about 3 sec and then shuts done??
I have tried to respring, reboot, looked in the ifile and etc for finding the problem but I dont get it? Also tried to uninstall some other apps that I thought maybe gives conflict with firewall but no succes…
I hope you can hlep me out in someway.

I had the same problem here… Then FWIP wouldn’t stop asking me about blocking some connections (even when the offending app was closed). Had to hard restart my iphone to get it to stop. Ended up removing FWIP to restore normal internet.
Love the app, works great. Any chance of updating the “more information” tab from within the GUI to contain updated info for latest features and changes? It only lists the changelog to 1.30 and gives usage info for older versions, and I really like to know whats changed each update and subupdate. Also, what changed in 1.39-2? I can’t find that anywhere. Again, thanks for the great (and very affordable) firewall. Heres hoping 3.x kexts can be used someday soon so this can really be a killer app.
